Eye of the Abyss — Complete Walkthrough and All 15 Puzzle Answers
This guide follows the 2026-10-26 rewrite. It contains every solution and all four ending conditions. On a first run, read only the controls section and come back per act when stuck. There is no separate tape counter: the fourth door is decided by whether all 42 clues are collected.
Controls and progression
- Emails on the left; evidence and notes on the right. The status bar shows the current act and “clues n/42.”
- Search takes one keyword at a time. Whole sentences usually return nothing.
- Each act requires named clues. Without them the page will not turn, and the chapter jump is not a shortcut.
- Puzzles appear as input boxes on the relevant site. A correct answer places the linked clue on the evidence board.
- Progress saves locally in the browser. Clearing cache starts over.
- The English and Chinese interfaces share one answer set; the English answers are in brackets below.
Act-by-act route
Prologue · The letter (1 May)
The game starts with “Shen Yuan’s Letter.” On the Hechuan forum search for “sanatorium” to get the address; search for “Shen Yuan” or “counsellor” for his background. The key and duty roster are the motive: the night nurse, Zhou Ning, is Lin Mo’s mother.
Chapter 1 · The patient

Four endings and how to reach them
- Sealed: choose the first door. Give the tapes to the families, not the press.
- Published: choose the second door. Give everything to a newspaper; the story destroys Gu Weian and pushes the survivors into view.
- The Double: choose the third door. Trade the tapes for Shen Yuan’s safety and take over the Eye of the Abyss.
- Looking Back: choose the fourth door, but only after all 42 clues are collected. One missing clue and the door stays dark. It is not chosen so much as earned.
Three places players get stuck
- After act five, read the government report against the acoustic archive: one says “parasite,” the other says “extractor fan.” The contradiction is the clue.
- Puzzle 013 needs all three conditions at once; “anchor” alone is not enough.
- Puzzle 014 is not a guess about values; write the four costs in the order the game gives them: testimony, peace, licence, illusion.
Final checklist
- The evidence board should read 42/42.
- All eight session tapes are complete before the finale; every ending gains a “Ninth Session” appendix.
- The nineteen cassette tapes are narrative evidence, not a separate counter. The fourth door depends on the 42 clues.
- If the fourth door stays dark, check the evidence board for the missing clue instead of restarting.
