Welcome to GameStrategists. By using this website, you agree to the following Terms of Service. Please read them carefully. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please stop using our website and services immediately.

1. Acceptance of Terms

This section says what these terms cover. The pages on the main site — gamestrategists.com: the guides, the game pages, the changelog and these legal pages — follow this document. Each of our games also runs on its own subdomain and publishes its own terms at /terms there: for the content hosted on that game site, its own terms govern, and whatever they leave out falls back to this document. We have no account system and we agree to nothing on behalf of an organization, so these terms bind you as the individual using the page.

2. Service Description

GameStrategists is the portfolio of the web games we build ourselves, together with the walkthroughs, puzzle breakdowns and development logs for those games. We do not publish guides for third-party games. All content is provided for personal learning and entertainment purposes only and may not be used for commercial purposes.

3. Intellectual Property

The intellectual property of original content on this website (including but not limited to guide text, code implementations, website design, graphics, and interfaces) belongs to GameStrategists and is protected by applicable copyright and other intellectual property laws. No reproduction, modification, distribution, or commercial use is permitted without explicit written permission. That sentence covers the content hosted on the pages of the main site; where a game subdomain grants its own permission to quote or screenshot, that grant is what applies on that game site (see section 1).

The games published on this site — our ARG puzzle titles and web games — are original works created by us, and their stories, puzzle designs, code and artwork are copyright GameStrategists / alphaBETA DEV. Guides written about them are first-party documentation. Third-party product names, character names, logos and trademarks mentioned in our guides remain the property of their respective owners, and we claim no ownership of them. All content is provided for informational and educational purposes only.

4. User Conduct

When using this website, you agree not to: (1) Modify, adapt, reverse engineer, or hack any part of this website in any way; (2) crawl this site as its robots.txt says — that file allows User-agent: *, carries no Disallow line at all, and additionally names 9 AI and generative-retrieval crawlers as allowed (Google-Extended, GPTBot, ChatGPT-User, ClaudeBot, anthropic-ai, CCBot, Omgilibot, PerplexityBot, Applebot-Extended); being named there is so people can find these works and summaries can cite them, it is not a licence to drain the site’s text into a copy of the same site, which is the infringement item (4) refers to; (3) Upload or transmit any viruses, malware, or other harmful code; (4) Infringe upon others' intellectual property or privacy rights; (5) Use this website for any illegal activity or in violation of applicable laws and regulations; (6) Interfere with or disrupt the normal operation of this website.

We have no accounts and no switch that can be turned against one person, so being "banned" is not a thing that happens here. What we can actually do is described in section 8 and applies to pages and to the service itself. To be concrete: this site runs no blocklist and no rate limiting.

5. Disclaimer

All content on GameStrategists is provided "as is" without any warranties, express or implied. We strive to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of our content, but we do not warrant that: (1) Content is completely accurate, complete, or current; (2) The website will be uninterrupted or error-free; (3) Game guides are applicable to all players or all versions. Our games are our own work and we do revise them: changes are recorded in the changelog, while a guide describes the game as it was on the day it was written or last corrected, so an older guide can fall out of step with the game.

We shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from the use or inability to use this website's content. You assume all risk associated with using this website's content. Game guides are provided for strategic reference only. Actual gaming experience may vary depending on individual playstyle, version differences, and device configuration.

6. Advertising

This website loads the Google AdSense ad script and reserves ad slots to help cover operating costs; whether an ad is served, and which one, is decided by Google. Ads are served by Google under its own privacy policy and advertising terms, and we are not responsible for their accuracy, legality or completeness. Whether a personalized ad is requested is decided by the cookie consent bar the main site shows at your first visit to its homepage: unless it is set to "Accept All", the ad placements on our pages do not request an ad at all, and that choice lives only in your own browser — our server does not keep it. You can also review and manage personalized advertising across the web in Google's ad settings at https://www.google.com/settings/ads. Clicking an ad takes you off this website and we are not responsible for the content or practices of third-party sites.

This website may contain links to third-party websites or services. These links are provided for user convenience only and do not constitute our endorsement or control over such third-party content. We assume no responsibility for the content, privacy practices, or any other aspect of third-party websites. We encourage you to review the terms of service and privacy policies of any third-party websites you visit.

8. Termination

We may modify, suspend or withdraw any page and any game on this site at any time, without notice and without having to give a reason. An address we withdraw keeps returning 410 Gone instead of being redirected somewhere else, so that readers and crawlers see that it is really gone rather than a page that looks like it still exists. Provisions on intellectual property, disclaimers and limitation of liability survive those changes.

9. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms of Service from time to time. Revised terms will take effect immediately upon posting on this page. We encourage you to periodically review this page for the latest terms. Continued use of this website after changes to the terms constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. For material changes, we may notify you through website announcements or other reasonable means.
